Dear Colleague, Dear Future Participant,
As announced by the advisory Board of the SeS Redox and Catalysis Network in September 2019, in Perugia, Italy, the 10th Workshop of the Selenium and Sulfur Redox and Catalysis Network (WSeS-10), will occur from November 25 to 26, 2022 at Universidade Federal Fluminense, Niterói – state of Rio de Janeiro. The WSeS will be organized as a pre-conference to the ICCST-15, the 15th International Conference on the Chemistry of Selenium and Tellurium, that will be held in Florianópolis, Brazil, between November 28 to December 2, 2022 (www.iccst15.com.br).
We expect a large number of participants among them undergraduate and graduate students. The contacts that they make during the Meetings usually lead to many doctoral and post-doctoral positions outside Brazil. The Meetings have also given us the opportunity to establish research programs in collaboration with qualified scientists from different countries, and to exchange knowledge in the forefront of basic and applied research in the fields of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Because of this we strongly encourage the participation of young scientists who will actively disseminate their results in oral and poster presentations.
In order to facilitate the participation of the students, the attendance at the workshop is free of charge, that is an important characteristic of the WSeSs.
Follow updates on registration, hotel reservations, and program on the WSeS website www.wses10.uff.br .
We will be grateful for you to forward this message to any colleagues and students whom you think might be interested in participating.
Any questions please contact us: organizawses@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing you in Niterói – Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 2022.
Yours sincerely,
Profa. Dra. Vanessa Nascimento – UFF (Chairwoman)
Prof. Dr. Fernando de Carvalho da Silva – UFF (Co-Chairman)
Prof. Dr. Juliano B. de Azeredo – UNIPAMPA (General Secretary)

Updates on the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Brazil
Currently, in Brazil, the COVID-19 pandemic is under control. Approximately 165 million people have already taken the first dose of the vaccine, which represents 78% of the population. 120 million have already received the second dose, a number that represents 56% of the population. The extra dose of reinforcement (3rd dose) was applied to 10 million people, around 5% of the population over 60 years of age.
To travel to Brazil, vaccinated citizens from several Asian, European countries, and the USA are allowed. Most international airlines returned to operating their routes to Brazil.
For this reason and a large number of Brazilians are already vaccinated as well as the low transmission rate, we believe that we will have appropriate conditions in Brazil from next year, but we will always be attentive.
We really hope that next year everything gets better.
